Why you should consider a term time canopy installation
Posted on | Posted in Education
We have been installing canopies at schools up and down the country for over 30 years, so we understand their unique concerns and requirements. We know from experience that many schools worry about installing a canopy during term time. However, we’ve carried out thousands of term-time canopy installations over the years, so our process is well-honed, safe and efficient.
We always prioritise the safety and satisfaction of our customers above all else. That’s why we make every effort to ensure that term-time installations in schools are seamless and stress-free – for both schools and pupils alike.
Why you should consider a term time canopy installation
If you’re considering a term-time canopy installation, here are eight reasons you should feel confident choosing us to deliver:
Site survey pre-installation
Before we begin the installation, we carry out an on-site survey. This survey covers all aspects of the canopy installation and is designed to ensure clear communication and understanding between our team and your school. During this visit, we can discuss your requirements in more detail and address any questions or concerns you may have. This helps us establish a solid foundation and ensures that everyone involved is on the same page from the get-go.
Co-ordinated deliveries
We will collaborate with you to schedule deliveries of materials and equipment at a time that’s convenient for you. We understand the importance of minimising disruption to the school’s daily activities, especially during key, busy hours like drop-off and pick-up times. We will work with you to coordinate deliveries outside of peak hours, so they have minimum impact to your day-to-day operations.
Secured work zones
As part of our installation process, we will establish designated fenced-off areas for skips, materials and access routes. The working area will also be completely fenced off as we install the canopy. These areas will all be clearly marked to ensure safety for everyone involved. By creating clear boundaries, we can avoid any potential hazards and streamline our workflow, allowing a smooth and efficient installation. It also means that children can still safely play outside while our workforce completes the installation.
Nominated lead installer
We appoint a designated lead installer to supervise the installation process and act as the main liaison between our team and your school. This person will be an experienced professional and will oversee every stage of the installation, ensuring it runs as smoothly as possible. Having a dedicated point of contact on-site helps everyone involved streamline communication and guarantees any concerns are addressed promptly.
Comprehensive planning and risk assessment
Before we begin any installation, we develop a detailed Construction Phase Plan (CPP) along with comprehensive Risk and Method Statements (RAMS). These documents thoroughly outline the entire installation process from start to finish, identifying any potential risks and hazards. By meticulously planning each step of the project, we can mitigate any potential risks in advance, providing you with peace of mind that safety protocols are being followed throughout.
DBS-checked installers
The safety and security of our customers is important to us. All of our installers are employed directly by us and undergo thorough Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. These checks allow us to ensure that every member of our installation team meets the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, providing reassurance to your school. You can always trust us to deliver a completely safe and reliable installation experience.
Commitment to quality
We’re dedicated to the very highest standards of quality, both when it comes to our products and our services. Our canopies are designed and tested to withstand the rigours of the British weather, and they all meet strict industry standards. Our canopies are designed in compliance with Eurocodes, including BS EN 1991-1-3 for snow loads and BS EN 1991-1-4 for wind loads, and we are accredited by the Contractors Health Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
Efficient installation timeline
Our experienced team and streamlined processes mean that you can expect us to complete the majority of installations within a timeframe of 2-5 days. This ensures minimal disruption to your school’s daily routine while still allowing us to deliver a high-quality end result. By completing installations within a relatively short timeframe, we minimise inconvenience and allow your school to start enjoying the benefits of your new canopy as soon as possible.
With over 30 years of experience and thousands of successful term-time canopy installations under our belt, we’ve perfected our process to ensure seamless installation. From comprehensive planning and risk assessment to DBS-checked installers, we will always prioritise the safety of your school and students above all else.
